Play Bubble Soccer To Beat The Boredom Out of Covid-19 Lockdown
Sports are an essential part of our day to day life. Social games support positive mental health and improve social skills along with promoting physical health. Participating in sports develops healthy living habits that provide physical benefits such as developing coordination, physical fitness, and strength, among others.
We are always creative and innovative in modifying games or inventing totally new games. There are rarely any kids around that don’t play Freeze Tag, Red Rover, Hide and Seek, Red Light Green Light, or Capture the Flag. These classics have begun to lose their lure for the ’tablet-kids’ in these times, but on the positive sidethe kids around now have developed or innovated new games that suit their own taste.
Along with the change in games, there has been a change in demographics of the players. Unlike in the past, grown-ups are also focusing more and more on indulging in social sports. As such the line between kids’ game or grown up games – is gradually blurring. Some of the most innovative social games of our era include Soapy Soccer, Beach Olympics, Floorball, Quidditch, Human Foosball and of course Bubble Soccer.
However, because we are dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are in lockdown and need to abide by social distancing measure, so sports are hardly seen as an option that we can resort to, to avoid boredom. At least if you consider playing social sports in the ‘usual way’.
Normally, sports are all about interacting physically and emotionally with our team members so that we can reap the mental and physical benefits, but in abnormal times like this, physical interaction is a big no. It can be life-threatening, not only for ourselves but for those around us. So, the next question that comes into existence is- Is that it? No sports? Are we doomed to be lazy?
No,it isn’t. Not if you don’t play by the book and become innovative with your choice of game. This means you can play social games if your choice of games helps you to adhere to government issued guidelines on social distancing and if you practice good hygiene.
Considering these requirements to stop spreading the coronavirus, there is one game that is the best social game of our timethat your family and friends can enjoy, and it is Bubble Soccer.
What is Bubble Soccer?
Bubble soccer or Bubble football is a football game wherein players have to score a goal while they are half-encased inside a bubble with their upper body and head covered.
It is a very popular team game and can be played among friends, family or colleagues. It can be played indoors or outdoors and can be organised in stadiums, parks, council areas or seashores – near your house.
How does Bubble Soccer adhere to social distancing guidelines?
The nose and mouth of players are encased within the bubble made of sturdy PVC material. This ensures that players cannot transmit anything from their mouth to other players. Because of the encasing, even if the players sneeze during the play, the droplets are not released in the open air and rule out thetransmission of a virus to other players.
According to COVID-19 information, the virus can also spread by touching hands. In some sports like normal football or cricket, touching sports objects is essential but that is not the case in Bubble Soccer. Players hands are encased within the bubble and it is not possible to touch other players or any surrounding surfaces. This ensures that players’ hand don’t touch any contaminated surfaces.
And most importantly the diameter of the bubble’s ranges from one to two meters. This means that the minimum distance between players is always at least one meter.
On a side note, a woman recently went into a supermarket inside a bubble for shopping. While she had an aide to support her in shopping items, the concept of isolating oneself inside a bubble was seen with awe and grins from many on YouTube.
How do we work to keep our bubble and player hygiene?
As a serious business that puts the safety of our clients above everything else, we take the utmost measures to sanitise our bubbles with hospital grade disinfectant before and after they areused, and we sanitise players’ hands before and after they enter the bubble.
